(17)Body Maintenance Matters まずはボディありき

We are born into this world and live our lives using our bodies. Our bodies make us experience a lot of things, such as diseases, injuries, hunger, sorrow, joy, peace, and so on. We owe so much of ourselves to our bodies. So we cannot appreciate the bodies enough and should always keep them well-maintained.

There is a growing concern about how to keep mental sanity and that is what this website is all about. I can say for sure, however, that we should not disrespect our bodies and should not pursue too much material prosperity, social activities, human relationships, and so on.

I worked 24/7 as a teacher, during which I suffered from depression and an unidentified clinical syndrome for a very long time. Fortunately, I survived the difficulties and those experiences are serving me as a guide in supporting others. Through these experiences, I have learned a lot about the significance of body maintenance.

Our bodies are patient, so we should listen to what our bodies are yearning for.

I think our bodies know much more about what we really need than we do. Once again I want to stress the importance of ‘Eat less, and Sleep more.’ We should not eat more than we need. We should have as much a night’s sleep as we need.

I consider our bodies to be the shrines for ourselves.
